Happy Feet Montessori ChildCare (HFMC) strives to awaken and nurture the human spirit. The Montessori Philosophy does not see the child solely as a student whose main goal is to learn. The philosophy views the child as a unique special being. Montessori philosophy consciously designs social communities and educational experiences that cultivate the child’s sense of independence, love of peace, passion for self-chosen work done well, and ability to respect and celebrate the individual spirit within people of all ages and value of all life.

Montessori Philosophy also teaches children not only appropriate pattern of polite behaviour, but seeks to instil basic universal values. These values include self-respect, acceptance of the uniqueness and dignity of each person we meet, kindness, peacefulness, compassion, empathy, honor individual responsibility, and courage to speak from our minds and to speak from the heart.

HFMC teachers are individual members of the American Montessori academy (A.M.A) Canadian Council of Montessori Administrators (C.C.M.A) and North America Montessori Teacher’s Association of (N.A.M.T.A)

 

What we Offer?

We offer a provincial licensed advanced child centre complete with a large bright spacious student classroom, equipped with child-sized furniture and shelving. In addition a fenced in play area is located in our backyard.

We offer a Montessori primary curriculum presented by Certified Montessori Educators and featuring authentic Montessori learning materials Practical Life, Language, Mathematics, Geography, Botany, Zoology, science and Creative Art.

In addition, we also offer, Music & Movement and computer which rounds out a program that is steeped in love and compassion each child’s individuality and Montessori professionalism.
